Prototype Headlight Cowl Attached on Bike

3d prints, foglamps and hot-glue

the shape, rocking on the main unit.

There it is! The headlight cowl, sitting on the main unit, shining bright.

Oh that looks beautiful to me, but I have a bias of the hours I have put behind this.

Sadly tho, two of the four light are not working as of now, one is officially dead and the other is being worked upon.

This prototype was to have a look at the basic size and structure of the front cowl, which looks fine to my eyes. A later version of this cowl would be more detailed, more designed and definitely not in PLA.

One major thing i realised in the last few days, worth mentioning, is the actual working span of this project. Its huge to say the least. When I was originally thinking of this project, I had thought that this would be one side summer project for me. This summer, when I started real work, I realised that I would only be able to do the bodywork and designing and electronic systems of the bike this summer, not even touching the drive and power systems. That too, turned out pretty wrong… Now I am back at my college, and for the record, only the framework, headlight cowl, the tailplate and some measurements and designing is done.

This does open my eyes towards how long this project is going to be, but atleast I’ll be occupied. the months will be worth it…

More when there’s more…
